إن أصول الدين أو العقائد الإسلامية مجموعة مفاهيم يؤمن بها الكبار وبتعلمها الصغار، وفيها يجب على المكلف الإجتهاد، بمعنى أنه يجب عليه النظر والمعرفة في كل أصل من أصول الدين المعروفة بنفسه دون تقليد الآخرين في ذلك.
فالتقليد في أصول الدين ممنوع شرعاً، وغير مقبول من الإنسان المكلف ولا يصل أيامنا إلى الإيمان حتى يجتهد بنفسه ويصل إلى الإعتقاد الصحيح، ويحتفظ لنفسه أيضاً بالدلالة التي أوصلته إلى إعتقاده وإيمانه بتلك المعتقدات، التي تسمى بأصول الدين (التوحيد والعدل الإلهي والنبوة والإمامة والمعاد).
والجدير بالذكر أن هذا الكتاب لا يبحث في أصول الدين وكيفية الإستدلال على صحتها، بل هو عبارة عن قصص وردت عن أهل البيت عليهم السلام تندرج تحت أصول الدين وغيرها من المعتقدات التي تندرج تحت أصول الدين عموماً.
كما يحتوي على قصص مهمة في التوحيد والنبوة والعدل الإلهي والإمامة والمعاد، يقرأها القارئ ويتمتع في قرآتها ويمكنه من خلالها يستنتج على صحة معتقداته ومن خلالها أيضاً تقوي عقيدته بمعتقداته ومقدساته، ومن خلالها يمكنه مناقشة الآخرين في الأفكار والمعتقدات كلها.
