الإسلام دين الأخلاق الكريمة، والصفات العظيمة، وهو دين الرحمة والسلام، وقد دعا القرآن الكريم إلى مكارم الأخلاق، وأخبرنا الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه أُرْسِلَ لينشر الأخلاق الصالحة بين الناس فقال: "إنما بعثت لأتمم صالح الأخلاق" وكان الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم القدوة والمثال في أقواله وأفعاله، وقد كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عادلاً في الرضا والغضب، ويعفو عمن ظلمه، ويعطي من حرمه، ويصل من قطعه، كما كان لسانه صلى الله عليه وسلم رطبًا بذكر الله دائمًا، وقد شهد له أعداؤه وأصحابه بما وصفه به القرآن الكريم: (وإنك لعلى خلق عظيم)
