بعد الانتصار الذي حققه حزب الله في لبنان على جيش ودولة "إسرائيل" في 25 أيار من العام 2000م، قفز سؤال كبير إلى ذهن كل مفكر من الأصدقاء والأعداء، وهو: لماذا انتصر حزب الله على "إسرائيل" في زمن الهزيمة والسقوط العربي!؟ وكيف تمكّنت جماعة صغيرة من المجاهدين من دحر الجيش الصهيوني من لبنان، وحمله على الاعتراف بالهزيمة لأول مرة في تاريخه!؟ وكيف استطاع لبنان البلد العربي الصغير، أن يقهر "إسرائيل" الممدودة أميركياً وغربياً؟ وكيف تحول حزب الله إلى حركة إسلامية رائدة، حازت رضا الأصدقاء وإعجاب الأعداء؟ ويحق هنا لكل عاقل متدبر بالأمور أن يسأل عن الشر الكامن خلف هذا الانتصار العظيم و"الخيالي"، إذ لا يعقل في غياب أدنى تقارب في ميزان القوة العسكرية بين إسرائيل وحزب الله، أن يحقق الانتصار الكبير وبالكيفية التي شاهدها العالم وذُهل لها.
من هنا بالذات وبعد عام على النصر، كانت فكرة هذا الكتاب "سر الانتصار" بعد كتاب "أيام الانتصار" الذي يحكي قصة الفتح المبين للمقاومة الإسلامية وهزيمة الجيش الإسرائيلي في لبنان–لتسليط الضوء على سرّ هذا النصر المظفر والأسباب الموصلة إليه، والتي تكمن بالدرجة الأولى في الخلفية الثقافية للمقاومة الإسلامية في لبنان.
وتجدر الإِشارة إلى أن فصول هذا الكتاب ما هي إلا محاولة للإجابة عن السؤال الرئيسي من قبل الكاتب، محاولاً أن يضع يده على جزء من الحقيقة في معرفة الخلفية الثقافية للمقاومة الإسلامية.
