"أمسي كنتِ في دمشق بين كهنة يحملون ألواحاً ومن حولك صبيان حليقو الرؤوس، كنت بينهم، وقوفاً، ومعي لوحٌ أبيضٌ. كنا ننشد لك، أي عيون كانت للكهنة، وهم يختلسون؛ حواجبهم العريضة المحنّاة برماد الآنية أقواسٌ موسيقيةٌ، والعائد بالرسالة من فخّ بين جبلين في أنطاكية، أفلت صرخته وترك النور يغمر المعبد. الجنود دحرجوا العجلة واختفوا بالسحابة حاملوا الأطواق ارتقوا بالنار أدراجاً متطاولة وتسمّروا في العلا. الصمت يهبك، الصمت يسفر، ويترك السكينة تتورد، ألوانك الطفيفة تملأ الألواح، والكهنة بأصابع راعشة، يلوّحون للضياء... يا للأنشودة ترفرف تحت الأقواس. اسمك هدية الصلصال. الصبيان يرفعون حاجبك ويتوارون به في غرف الكتابة... أمس كنت الناظر، وكنت واقفة. الموسيقيّ يقلب الرقعة، والآلة له تضحك، فمك مطبق وعينك وسنى. الكوى نهدت والجندي رمى ظله في البهو، حبّات البرد ترشق درعه، والكهنة يطوفون بكؤوس هاربة. أمسي كنتٍ، أمسي كنتِ والرسول الذي نزل من أعلى الفرات، حمل اسمك وملابسك وتوارى بالألواح".
ترحل مع الشاعر عبر صوره العتيقة، المضخمة بعبق الخيال إلى هناك في دمشق حيث الكهنة والصبيان حليقو الرؤوس والألواح وهو وهي التي استدار البدر لرؤيتها. من خلال سطور ملأى بالمعاني ترحل عبر التاريخ إلى كهف، وينسج خيالك من خلال تلك المعاني رؤىً وصوراً وحكايا، وتلوح لك عبارات الشاعر كألوان طيفية وإيقاعاته النثرية كموسيقى هاربة من مغارة لتندسّ في سمعك متوافقة مع سحر الكلمات.
