هذه رسالة حررتها لبيان فضائل جُذام وذكر أخبارهم وأعلامهم ومنازلهم وقبائلهم القديمة، والكلام على إحدى قبائلها المعاصرة في جنوب فلسطين وسيناء وشمال الحجاز، وهي قبيلة (بني عطية) الجُذامية.
وغيرُ خافٍ على أحدٍ من أهل العلم أن قبيلة جُذام الباذخة بالمجد أخبارها كثيرة ومناقبها عظيمة، فأحببت أن أُصنِّفَ في أخبارها وفضائلها وأعلامها رسالة لطيفة تكون مرجعاً لطلبة العلم في معرفة أخبار جُذام وأعلامها ومنازلها وفضائلها وبعض قبائلها المعاصرة.
قد جمعت في هذه الرسالة الصحابة من قبيلة جُذام مِمن ذكرهم العلماء في الكُتب المُصنفة في أسماء الصحابة - رضي الله عنهم - ليسهل على طالب العلم الوقوف عليهم، ثم ذكرت بعض أشهر أعلام جذام من التابعين وغيرهم.
