إزدادت حركة حماية المستهلك ومكافحة الغش التجاري في الآونة الأخيرة، نتيجة المطالبات الشعبية والرسمية المتكررة من أجل تأمين الحماية القانونية للمستهلكين من جشع التجار والشركات، وقد أصبحت حركة حماية المستهلك تمثل قضية ذات أولوية قصوى للحكومات العربية والمؤسسات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني في هذه المرحلة، نتيجة الفوضى التي تجتاح الأسواق منذ سنوات عدة تحت دعوى حرية التسعير وآليات الإقتصاد الحر، وترتب على ذلك ظهورتشريعات قانونية هدفها حماية المستهلك نتيجة المساعي التي تبذلها جمعيات حماية المستهلك والجهات التشريعية من جهة، والشركات الكبرى من جهة أخرى، لتقليل الأخطار التي تهددها جراء الغش التجاري وتقليد السلع‘ وقد عقدت هذه الندوة لمناقشة موضوع حماية المستهلك ومكافحة الغش التجاري، وقد إجتمعت في هذا الكتاب جميع، البحوث وأوراق العمل التي تم تقديمها في جلسات العمل في الندوة، وذلك لتصبح مرجعاً للمهتمين والقيادات العاملة على حماية المستهلك ومكافحة الغش التجاري في الوطن العربي، وأيضاً بهدف توسيع دائرة الإستفادة منها لمن لم يتمكن من حضور تلك الندوة أو المشاركة في فعاليتها. ونأمل أن يحقق هذا الكتاب الفائدة المرجوة منه.
