Book Description
صدر الجزء الأول من "دليل إلى قراءة تاريخ الكنيسة" وقد خلا من الحديث عن مسيرة الكنائس الكاثوليكية في الشرق، لأن المؤلف الفرنسي، جان كُمْبي، اهتمَّ، أوّل ما اهتم به، بتاريخ الكنيسة في الغرب.
لذا رأت لجنة تعريب الكتاب ضرورة إضافة تاريخ الكنيسة الكاثوليكية في الشرق، وذلك لدافعين: أوّلاً ليكوّن الكتاب بجزئيه، الأول والثاني، رؤية متكاملة لمسيرة الكنيسة الجماعة شرقاً وغرباً، وثانياً: لان للكنائس في الشرق العربي دعوة خاصَّة بها، فقد شاءت العناية الإلهية أن تحمل هذه الكنائس رسالة الإيمان بسرّ التجسّد والفداء والقيامة في مناخ إسلامي، فتظلّ شاهدة على الإيمان في بقعة من العالم انطلقت منها الأديان وكأنها منطقة تتسربل بأسرار الروح، عطّرتها حياة نسكية عاشها آباء لنا وشهداء.
ولم تزل هذه الكنائس في الشرق العربي، بالرغم من ضآلة حجمها في وطنها الإسلامي، تؤدّي رسالتها الهامّة وكأنّها الإتصال الدائم في مسيرة الإيمان خلال القرون العابرة.
ولقد طلبنا إلى متخصّصين أن يوجزوا أهم ملامح كنيستهم، ولعلّ هذه النظرة الشاملة تساعد القارئ على تكوين فكرة متكاملة واضحة، وإن كانت مقتضية، عن كل كنيسة من الكنائس الشرقية الكاثوليكية، وقد أتى الترتيب أبجدياً.
كما أننا أضفنا عرضاً للكنيسة الأثيوبيّة لما لها من علاقة وطيدة بالكنائس الشرقية، إذ أسستها كنيسة الإسكندرية.
