البحث الذي بين أيدينا يقدم مساحة مكانية وزمانية في أدبنا العربي طرقها بعض الباحثين من خلال جزيئات محدودة ومن بعيد فلم تقدم صورة متكاملة تشبع شغف القارىء المتشوق لاستيعاب المساحة المكانية والزمانية لطبيعة نجد بملامحها المتعددة..
ومع أهمية المكان نجد (نجد) وخصوصيته، فقد خطا الباحث الدكتور محمد سيد علي عبد العال (محمد عمر) خطوة ناجحة في تحديد المساحة الزمنية مجال بحثه، لقد اختارها بعناية لتعبر عن نقاء ملحوظ بالنسبة للشعراء النجديين أو المتيمين بنجد، والنص الأدبي النجدي أيضًا، وكانت فترة صدر الإسلام حتى العصر العباسي هي مجال البحث، وهي فترة ظل فيها النجديون بعيدًا عن المدنية والصراع السياسي الذي حكم العصرين الأموي والعباسي وبث فيهما من شوائب أفسدت الروح الشعرية إن جاز التعبير فاحتفظوا بفطرتهم النقية، ونضارتهم الوجدانية. ثم إن هذا البحث قد تميز بدراسة فنية عميقة، وبرؤية جديدة لشعرنا القديم سعت إلى كشف جماليات الفن من خلال جماليات المكان، وهو ما خلت منه الدراسات السابقة التي تعرضت لشعر الطبيعة في نجد، من بعيد وعلى حذر.
لقد خصصت الدراسة مبحثين مهمين لشعرية المكان النجدي وشعرية الزمان النجدي، فكشفت عن أبعاد الأماكن النجدية من الناحية الجمالية، ورأينا ما فيها من سحر خاص يشمل جبالها ووديانها وميامها، فضلًا عن السحاب والمطر والبرق والرياح والنجوم والكواكب.. إلخ، كذلك كشفت شعرية المكان عن الجمال الأخاذ في أشجار نجد من نخيل وغضا واراك واثل ورند وغيرها ما فيها من دلالات ورموز ومعاني شعرية ارتبطت بخيالات الشعراء.. والأمر نفسه بالنسبة للبنات والأزهار من شيح وكافور وريحان وخزامى وعرار وإقحوان.
وعلى هذا النحو نرى مشاهد الطبيعة النجدية في الحيوان والطير والحشرات والزواحف ثم شعرية الحنين في شعر الطبيعة النجدية بوصفها الأرض التي ارتبط بها شعر الحنين حتي صارت مثلًا ومثالًا في شعرنا العربي. أظهرت هذه الدراسة في عمق الشعرية في شعر الطبيعة النجدي وقدمت لنا صورة حية للطبيعة النجدية بتفاصيلها الدقيقة زمانًا ومكانًا ولكن قراءتها الفنية لشعر الطبيعة النجدي أضافت إلينا نحن القراء كثيرًا من الزاد المعرفي والفني إن صح التعبير.
