الحكاية لجأ إليها الفرد ولجأتْ إليها الشعوب، وفي ذلك استوى الجميع على وجه الأرض وعلى مرور الزمان، فكانت تسجيلاً للتاريخ، وتوثيقاً للأحداث الكبرى، ورسماً لا يُمحَى لثقافات الشعوب وعاداتها وتقاليدها، ودعوة غير مباشرة لقيمة ما، فكانت القصة والرواية والموال الشعبي والشعر والزجل والأفلام السينمائية، أما الأفلام الوثائقية فإن هناك من يقول إنها شأن آخر، غير أني أعتقد أنها ليست سوى حكاية.
