تتجه سهام اللوم والإتهام إلى السلطة العامة عن أعمال طبيب التجميل أكثر من غيره من الأطباء، فهو وإذ يتعامل مع أهم شيء في الإنسان، ألا وهو "حق الحياة والصحة" ليس بداعي العلاج والشفاء كباقي زملائه في المهنة، وإنما بداعي (التجميل أو التزيين) في أصل عمله الطبي، إلا ما اتسم منه بالضرورة، وهذا اختلاف شديد وكبير بين طبيب التجميل وباقي الأطباء، وهذا الإختلاف يعود في الحقيقة إلى تنوع عمليات التجميل ذاتها، وبناءً عليه فإن الطبيعة الخاصة لعمل طبيب التجميل لا تصنع اختلافاً شبه كلي من ناحية العمل الطبي فحسب، وإنما القانوني، أيضاً، أي القواعد القانونية التي تحكم عمل طبيب التجميل في المرفق الطبي العام.
وفي ضوء ذلك، تقوم إشكالية الموضوع، حول مدى تأثير تنوع عمليات التجميل بين ضرورية لغرض العلاج وأخرى غير ضرورية تخرج عن علة الشفاء في التنظيم القانوني لطبيب التجميل في المرفق الطبي العام.
لذا نأمل أن يكون هذا الكتاب بمثابة أداة تساعد المشرع اللبناني عند سنّه لقانون ينظم الجراحة التجميلية، كما يمكن أن يعد دليلاً علمياً مختصراً لجميع المهتمين بالشأن الطبي التجميلي من باحثين ومحامين وقضاة وأطباء، خصوصاً أن هذا الموضوع لم يتم بحثه حتى اليوم.
