اجتاحت الثورة المعلوماتيّة والتكنولوجية المهولة حياتنا اليوميّة لتبتلع التعقيدات الجغرافيّة، ولتطوي طرفي الشرق بالغرب والشمال بالجنوب، مّما أتاح الفرصة للمتلقي العاديّ أن يصبح مشاركاً في صناعة الأخبار ونقل الأحداث الحيّة، فتحوّلت نشرات الأخبار التلفزيونيّة من قنوات تصبّ فيها مجموعة من البيانات والمعلومات حول حدثٍ ما إلى نافذةٍ تسمح للمشاهد أن يطلّ من خلالها على كلّ المستجدّات والأحداث اليوميّة أوّلاً بأوّل.
ومن هنا، تنامى الإهتمام بالدور الذي تضطلع به الأخبار التلفزيونيّة، وتأثير مضمونها على المتلقيّ، ودورها في تكوين رأيه وإتجاهاته الفكريّة.
وفي ضوء هذه التغيّرات المتلاحقة أصبحت نشرات الأخبار أكثر إقناعاً واستطاعت أن تستحوذ على عواطف الكثيرين من خلال نقل صور حيّةٍ ومباشرة من بين أزقة الوقائع والأحداث، وبالتحيد في إطار أزمة ثورات الربيع العربيّ الّتي عصفت بمختلف البلدان العربيّة، وتركت الجرحى والقتلى على قارعة الطرق...
نقلت لنا نشرات الأخبار من عيون كاميرات الهواتف الذكيّة مشاهد حيّةً لم نكن لنتخيّل وقوعها أو رؤيتها في يوم من الأيّام على شاشات التلفاز الّذي كان مجرّد وسيلةٍ للترفيه والتسلية والتثقيف، فأصبح اليوم سبباً لإفزاع الكثير من المشاهدين.
بل اقتضى الأمر، أحياناً، إن يتمّ تحذير المشاهدين من بعض المشاهد الدمويّة والعنيفة التي تتضمّنها النشرات الإخباريّة، هكذا دخلت نشرات الأخبار في صراع ما بين الرغبة في نقل الحقيقة كما هي، وبين الإلتزام بما تقتضيه الأخلاقيّات الإعلاميّة والمهنيّة من نبذ للعنف ومراعاةٍ لقداسة الوجود البشريّ الّذي يتعرّض كثيراً للإنتهاك.
يتضمن الكتاب أربعة فصول، يندرج تحتها عدد من المباحث، خاتمة وملحق إستمارة تحليل مضمون لنشرة أخبار العاشرة بتلفزيون عُمان؛ الفصل الأول: الأخبار التلفزيونية... النشأة والتطور، الفصل الثاني: نشرات الأخبار بتلفزيون سلطنة عمان، الفصل الثالث: محتوى نشرة أخبار العاشرة بتلفزيون عمان... دراسة وصفية تحليلية.
