تشير أغلب الدراسات العلمية إلى أن جوهز الأزمات التي تعاني منها الأنظمة الإعلامية خاصة في الدول العربة والنامية تكمن في غياب المعرفة المتعمقة للجمهور، من ناحية الاحتياجات الاتصالية أو مواقف هذا الجمهور واتجاهاته إزاء ما يقدم له في وسائل الإعلام خاصة في ظل غياب العلاقة التبادلية التفاعلية بين القائمين بالاتصال في هذه الوسائل جماهيرياً. حيث أن النظرة إلى الجمهور على أنه مجرد حشد (Mass) لم يعد أمراً مقبولاً كما تغيرت النظرة إليه على أنه مجرد متلق سلبي وأصبح ينظر إليه على أنه شريك إيجابي وفاعل في العلمية الاتصالية وخلال الدراسة التي بين ايدينا نحاول التعرف على معالجة الصحافة للقضايا العربية الأكثر تأثير في الوطن العربي خلال السنوات الأخيرة وقبل ذلك مثل قضية فلسطين والصراع المستمر بين فصائله حماس وفتح. وقضية الاحتلال الانجلو الأمريكي لدولة العراق الشقيق. وقضية أزمة إقليم دارفور في غرب السودان.
