يعد النمو في وسائل الإعلام أحد المؤشرات الدالة علي درجة الحراك المميزة للحالة الثقافية داخل أية أمة من الأمم. فوسائل الإعلام تشكل وعاء من الأوعية المهمة التي تنشر الثقافة- بمفهومها العام- داخل المجتمع، من خلال ما تتداوله من مضامين سياسية واقتصادية واجتماعية وما تسوقه من أساليب معينة للحياة. كما تلعب وسائل الإعلام دوراً حيوياً في توفير تافذة لنشر الإبداع الثقافي- بالمفهوم الخاص للثقافة- من خلال المجلات والقنوات المتخصصة في معالجة قضايا الفكر والفن والأدب.
