"يعد النمو في وسائل الإعلام أحد المؤشرات الدالة على درجة الحراك المميزة للحالة الثقافية داخل أية أمة من الأمم. فوسائل الإعلام تشكل وعاء من الأوعية المهمة التي تنشر الثقافة – بمفهومها العام - داخل المجتمع، من خلال ما تتداوله من مضامين سياسية واقتصادية واجتماعية وما تسوقه من أساليب معينة للحياة. كما تلعب وسائل الإعلام دوراً حيوياً في توفير نافذة لنشر الإبداع الثقافي – بالمفهوم الخاص للثقافة – من خلال المجلات والقنوات المتخصصة في معالجة قضايا الفكر والفن والأدب. يضاف إلى ذلك الدور الذي تلعبه الرسالة الإعلامية كمرآة عاكسة لمنظومة القيم الثقافية والإنسانية التي تسود مجتمعاً من المجتمعات خلال فترة زمنية معينة.
