إدوارد دي بونو (بالإنجليزية: Edward de Bono ) (مواليد 19 مايو 1933) طبيب وعالم نفس مالطي. يكتب دي بونو بشكل احترافي خصوصا في مواضيع التفكير الإبداعي، المصطلح الذي ابتدعه هو نفسه. دي بونو حاليا مستشار يعمل في العديد من الشركات العالمية مثل كوكا كولا وإريكسون.
التاريخ
دي بونو من مواليد مالطا وخريج كلية سانت إدوارد من ثم حصل على درجة الطب من جامعة مالطا ليتابع في جامعة أكسفورد ضمن منحة رودس ليحصل على علامات شرف في الفيزيولوجيا وعلم النفس من ثم دكتوراه الفلسفة في الطب. ليمضي في متابعة الدكتوراه PHD في كامبردج وبنفس الوقت ضمن جامعة أكسفورد، وجامعة لندن وجامعة هارفرد. تزوج من جوزفين (انفصلا عام 2005) ولديه منها ولدان.
في عام 1969 أ س س دي بونو أمانة الأبحاث الاستعرافية Cognitive Research Trust التي اشتهرت لاحقا ب: كورت (CoRT) التي استمرت حتى الآن في وضع وتطوير مناهج تعليمية بناء على أفكاره. في عام 1979 شارك في تأسيس مدرسة التفكير مع مايكل هيويت-غليسون.
ألف أكثر من 75 كتابا مترجمة لأكثر من 37 لغة.

يرتكب المديرون التنفيذيون خطأ كبيراً عندما يعتقدون أن المنافسة كافية لتحقيق النجاح، إن المنافسة هي جزء من الحد الأدنى اللازم للبقاء. أما النجاح فيحتاج إلى المضي إلى ما هو أبعد من المنافسة أي إلى ما فوق المنافسة.
لقد أصبح العمل بدون تفكير أقل فائدة في حين أن تغييراً في المفهوم قد يعود بفائدة كبيرة جداً. إن مفهوماً جديداً هو بلا شك أفضل وأرخص طريقة للحصول على قيمة إضافية من مصادر موجودة.
لكي أركز على موضوع الإبداع الجاد أسست منتدى عالمياً للإبداع جمعت فيه أشخاصاً من الشركات الكبرى المهتمة بشكل مباشر بتطوير وتطبيقات الإبداع، من الأعضاء المؤسسين لهذا المنتدى شركات آي.بي.أم وبرودنشال ودوبونت وميرك ونستله (أكبر الشركات العالمية). وبي.إي.إي (هيئة المطارات العالمية). إنني سعيد لرؤية بعض أكبر الشركات في العالم وقد بدأت تأخذ موضوع الإبداع بشكل جدي.
الكلمة الجديدة التي اقترحها في هذا الكتاب هي "صناعة القيمة" والتي أعرفها على أنها "إبداع وتشكيل القيم" وهي تشبه كلمة "التصنيع" التي تتعلق بإبداع وإنتاج الأشياء.
تحتاج الحكومات إلى التفكير حاجة ماسة ومع ذلك من المدهش أنها لا تمارسه إلا قليلاً.
