اعتنى العلماء رحمهم الله تعالى، بتتبع أحاديث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، والتنقل إلى البلدان والمدن، لأخذها من أفواه الرجال. ومن هذه المدن هي مدينة غزة أرض الجهاد والإستشهاد، وأرض العلم والعلماء. لذلك يعد هذا الكتاب جمعاً للروايات التي صُرّح من خلال إسنادها أنها حُدِّثت بِغَزَّة (تخريج ودراسة) من إعداد الأستاذ محي الدين سامي كلاّب.
يستند المؤلف على ما ذكره النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في بعض أحاديث يؤكد على أهميتها ومن هذه الأحاديث ما قاله النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم "طوبى لمن أسكنه الله إحدى العروسين عسقلان وغزة". وفي رواية "أبشركم بالعروسين غزة وعسقلان".
من هنا أراد المؤلف بيان أهميتها العلمية والتاريخية والدينية فعمل على تخريج الأحاديث التي صرّح من خلال إسنادها أنها حدثت بغزة، وبيان العلماء الذين دخلوا غزة، وأخذوا العلم عن أهلها، ما ينتج المجال للتنقيب عن تراث فلسطين وباقي البلدان.
