يقدم هذا الكتاب "الالكترونيات والاتصالات عن بعد" عددًا كبيرًا من الموضوعات في مجال علم الإلكترونيات والتي تخدم مجموعة مستويات في التعليم قدر المستطاع نظرًا لضخامة وعمق موضوعات علم الالكترونيات التي لا يمكن أن يضمها كتاب واحد مثل هذا الكتاب الصغير.
وقد تم عرضها بشكل متدرج لكي تكون مرجعًا أساسيًا مركزًا وواضحًا يستند عليه الدارس في العلوم الفيزيائية، أو في بعض العلوم الهندسية المتعلقة بعلم الالكترونيات، أو أية علوم أخرى مرتبطة بها، وذلك من أجل تكوين خلفية شاملة تتضمن مجموعة المفاهيم والمبادئ الأساسية التي تتيح للدارس فهمًا عميقًا في مجال علم الالكترونيات وأدواتها، كما تتيح له التعامل مع المسائل المرتبطة بموضوعاتها أو تطبيقاتها في النواحي العملية.
ولكي تكتمل منظومة هذا التسلسل والوضوح في موضوعات علم الالكترونيات، استندنا على مجموعة من المراجع الأساسية في الفيزياء العملية للالكترونيات مثل التي أعدها كل من (فرانك بوج) وزميله (ويس بونك) من كاليفورنيا، وكذلك مرجع الفيزياء الذي أعده جون افيسون من كلية مارتن في ميدلس بروف، ومراجع موثوق بها كالتي أعدها كل من مايكل نيللكون وزميله فيليب باركر من جامعة سيتي بالمملكة المتحدة وغيرها، كما تم اختيار التركيبات اللغوية واللفظية والمصطلحات العلمية المتداولة في علم الالكترونيات.
ويتكون هذا الكتاب من ثمانية فصول مرتبة حسب الموضوعات التي تخدم بعضها البعض في علم الالكترونيات والاتصالات عن بعد وتطبيقاتها، وجاءت هذه الفصول بالترتيب على النحو التالي: الفصل الأول: الالكترون والأنابيب المفرغة، الفصل الثاني: خصائص الالكترون، الفصل الثالث: أشباه الموصلات والترانزستورات، الفصل الرابع: راسم الذبذبات الكاثودي، الفصل الخامس: الالكترونيات التماثلية، الفصل السادس: الالكترونيات الرقمية، الفصل السابع: الدوائر المتكاملة، الفصل الثامن: الاتصالات عن بعد.
