Book Description
يعالج الكتاب مشكلة إدماج المهاجرين العرب والأفارقة والآسيويين في البلدان الأوروبية، خصوصاً فرنسا. ويتطرق المؤلف إلى الثقافة الأصلية للمهاجرين بوصفها محمولًا بالغ الأهمية في تعاطي هؤلاء مع المجتمعات الجديدة. وهو يعتقد جازماً بأن نكران هذه الثقافات، كما نكران الثقافات الفرعية المتولّدة من احتكاك ثقافة الأصل مع ثقافة مجتمع الاستقبال، يقعان في أساس تعثّر، وأحيانًا إخفاق، عملية إدماج المهاجرين في مجتمعاتهم الجديدة.
إن محاولات التيّار المركزي فرض الثقافة «الجمهورانية الفرنسانية» على مهاجرين من ثقافات مختلفة، وعدم أخذ ثقافاتهم هذه في الاعتبار، دفعت باتجاه عملية مزدوجة: فمن ناحية شجّعت على تقوقع المجتمع المحلي الفرنسي على نفسه في وضع استعلائي من «الرضى عن الذات»، يمارس الازدواجية عبر إشهار القيم الجمهورية والإصرار على حفظ مسافة بيّنة مع مجتمع الهجرة، ومن ناحية ثانية شجعت على انكفاء المهاجرين نحو ترسيخ الصلة بقيمهم الأصلية وإحيائهم التقاليد البطريركية، فانعكس ذلك على بنية الأسرة، وخصوصاً الإناث فيها، وعلى وضع المرأة بوصفها أماً وكائناً منقوص الاستقلالية بعيداً من سياسة «تمكين» حقيقية تحفظ للمرأة كرامتها واستقلاليتها. لذلك، لا بد من ترك الأحادية والتسليم بأن المجتمع الفرنسي، كغيره من مجتمعات الاستقبال الأخرى، قد أصبح مجتمعاً تعدّدياً، وعليه أن يسلّم بهذه التعددية الثقافية ويحترمها.
