وقد حاولنا في هذا الكتاب الذي وضعناه في جزئين- قدر جهدنا- تقديم المائة المعركة الأكبر والأخطر والأشهر في التاريخ، وقصص أبطالها سواء الذين سطعوا فيها أو الذين سقطوا وكيف اندلعت هذه المعارك، وكيف سارت أحداثها، وكيف انتهت بقادتها، مع الوقوف على أهم نتائجها، الجزء الأول من هذا الكتاب، اخترنا له عنوانا يقرأ: "معارك صنعت أبطالا". أما الجزء الثاني فيحمل عنوانا يقرأ: "معارك دمرت أبطالا". هذا الكتاب أشبه بالعمل الموسوعي الذي يتتبع مسيرة الحروب التي عصفت بالبشرية في الماضي والحاضر للوقوف على سير حياة قادة شاءت الأقدار أن ينتصروا أو ينهزموا، وفي انتصاراتهم وكذلك في هزائمهم بالإضافة لتغييرها للتاريخ، عبرة أيضا للأجيال المتعاقبة لكي يستفيدوا من أهم دروسها وهى كثيرة كما سنرى في الكتاب.
