بعد تقديس واجب الوجود وتمجيده وأداء واجب شكره وتحميده، والصلاة على المصطفين من عبيده خصوصاً على نبينا وعترته المؤيدين بتأييده، يقول الأحقر مهدي بن أبي ذر؛ هذه "لمعة إلهيّة في الحكمة المتعالية" أوردتها في فصاحة اللفظ وعلوّ المعنى على وجه يسرُّ الناظر، وينوَر الخاطر، ويتسوَّق الأرواح إلى عالم الأنوار، ويكشف عن كثير من مكنونات العلوم والأسرار، ورتبتها على خمسة أبواب.
عاش الشيخ النراقي كما يعيش عشرات الآلاف من أمثاله ن طلاّب العلم، خامل الذكر فقير الحال، منزوياً في مدرسته لا يُعرف من حاله إلا أنّه طالب من أهل كاشان مقيم في مدينة أصفهان لتحصيل العلوم الدينية، وكان لا يتصل به إلا أقرانه في دروسه، ولم يكن يهمهم شيء من شؤونه... أما هو فكان يتردد في دراسته العلمية بين غرفته وجالس الدرس، لا يعرف من حاله إلا ملابسه الرثة التي ألف الجميع منظرها، وهي تشير في الظاهر إلى فقره، وفي الباطن إلى زهده وعفّته وعزة نفسه، إذ لم يتقبّل، بل لم يستطيع أن يتقبّل صدقات الآخرين عليه.
يقول المؤلف: الوجود عام إعتباري، وخاص متحقق، فرد منه بسيط قائم بذاته، يلزم الثبوت العيني بنفسه، ولا يمكن تعقله، وإلاّ، انقلبت الحقيقة، وغيره مركّب من جهتين: وجودية وعدمية، ينتزع عنهما العام والماهيّة، ولولا تحققه لزم حصول المتحصل والجزئي من ضم الإعتباري، أو الكلي إلى مثله، وثبوت المعدوم، أو التسلسل، أو الخلف، وإنتزاع العام عن غير المتحقق او المتحقق به، أو بغير الوجود، وإنتفاء الحمل المتعارف، لعدم صلاحية العام لما به الإتحاد، وإنتفاء الموجود رأساً، إذ ثبوت الماهيّة بالخاص خلاف الفرض، وبنفسها أو بالعام أو بالإنتساب إلى الجاعل باطل.
وتحصل الماهيَّة المعروضة للعام به، أو كل منهما بوجود منفرد، أو تقدمها عليه بالوجود، يستلزم الدور أو التسلسل أو المطلوب، وكون العام من عوارض الوجود دون الماهية وتصريحهم بخلافه، وهذا إلزام عليهم.
