وتقوم التنمية على مثلث أضلاعه هي الأرض والإنسان والوقت في آن واحد، وقد آثر المؤلف هنا أن يضم الوقت هنا بدلًا من التحدث عنه في كتاب منفصل، ومن هنا فقد خرج الكتاب في جزئين أحدهما يطوف ويحلق في ضرورة استغلال الإنسان للأرض والموارد الطبيعية من حوله، والثاني يتمحور في الحديث عن كيفية استغلال الإنسان للوقت باعتباره موردًا لا يقدر بمال إذ أن الوقت وإن كان موردًا غير مرئي إلا أنه يشكل تلك المساحة الزمنية التي تنفذ من خلالها الخطط وتؤدي الأعمال وتنجز الأهداف، وإذا أهملنا عنصر الوقت في حياتنا فلا إنتاج ولا تنمية.
هذا الكتاب محاولة جادة من المؤلف في تقديم موضوع التنمية الاقتصادية والبشرية بعيدًا عن التعقيدات الاصطلاحية أو التقعرات اللغوية.
