كانت في المحرّق فئةٌ من الشعراء، بارزة البذل والعطاء، ومن بينهم أسماء يشار إليها بالبنان، وهم للثقافة عنوان، بعضهم حُفظّت أشعاره في طيّ القراطيس والمخطوطات، فوصل جهدهم بدليل وإثبات.
لذلك أتينا من هؤلاء بالمستطاع، وأشرنا إليهم كرموز للشعر والإبداع، ورصدنا أشعارهم جاهدين ما دمنا على قادرين.
ويضمّ هذا الرصد أسماء كثيرة، بعضها تعرف والأخرى غتيرة، شكلت تنوعاً فيه إختلاف، وأزاهير تضوّعت عند القطاف، وغذاءً ضمٍّ ما لذّ وطاب، يلهي عن الأكل والشراب.
وكما نوّه الشعراء من قبل والكتّاب، بأنّ خير جليس في الزمان كتاب، فأرجو أن تكون قد وفّقنا في رسم الصورة، مؤملين ألّا تكون ناقصةً أو مبتورة، سائلين الله تعالى أن نكون أدركنا، قدر الجهد، كلّ مأمول، والعذر عند كرام الناس مقبول.
