في كتابه عن "الإنجيل بحسب العبرانيين" يورد المونسنيور "بولس الفغالي" مضمون ما جاء في تعاليم دياتسارون تاتيان الرافض للعهد القديم والذي أراد أن يحرر الإنجيل من كل تأثير يهودي. يقول: "إنجيل واحد، ذلك ما فعل تاتيان، وتبعه مرقيون الذي استند إلى كلام بولس الرسول: لا وجود إلا لنص إنجيلي واحد. لم يدونه إنجيلي ما، بل كشفه المسيح ذاته بشكل مباشر. فالرسل والمتشيعون لهم هم مسؤولون عن "فبركة" أربعة نصوص مختلفة لكي يشوهوا الإنجيل، عندهم خلطوا، اضافوا عناصر متهودة كاذبة(...)".
في هذا السياق يبحث الكتاب عن الإنجيل الصحيح وأثره في بقية الكتب السماوية ومنها القرآن الكريم وإنجيل بربانا الذي هو نسخة إسلامية ثانية مأخوذة عن الإنجيل الواحد، والذي لا يمكن إلا أن يكوَن الإنجيل الرباعي وفق المؤلف.
ومهما يكن من أمر، فإن هذا الكتاب يحاول جاهداً أن يوضح التناقض بين النصوص الإنجيلية، والإنتقادات التي طالتها لهذا "حاول مرقيون وتاتيان الرد فقدما نصاً إنجيلياً واحداً...". من هنا يستعرض الكتاب مواقف الكنيسة في الشرق والغرب ورد الإنجيليين على التعارض في الأناجيل الأربعة، وبهذا يكون الكلام عن المسيح لا يستنفذه نص واحد، ولا حتى اربعة. وهكذا قال الإنجيل الرابع: لو أردنا أن نكتب أقوال يسوع وأفعاله "لا أظن أن العالم نفسه يسع الصحف المكتوبة (يو21: 25)...".
هذا ويتضمن الكتاب النص الأصلي لـ دياتسَارون تاتيان ويفتتح بـ "نبتدي بمعونة الله تعالى بكتابه الإنجيل الطاهر والبستان الزاهر المدعو ذياطا سارون (...) ويختتم بـ تم الإنجيل الذي جمعه ططيانوس وسماه ديطا سارون يعني الرباعي مجموع من أربع بشائر الرسل الأطهار الأربعة الإنجيلية الأخيار عليهم السلام نقله القس الخير العالم أبو الفرج عبد الله بن الطيب رضي الله عنه من السرياني إلى العربي من نسخة بخط غبسى بن علي المطيب تلميذ حنين بن اسحق رحمهما الله آمين".
