العنوان الأصلى لهذا الكتاب، وهو فى الأصل جزء من أطروحة لنيل درجة الماجستير فى الآداب من جامعة الكويت، "من مظاهر شعرية الخطاب عند غازي القصيبي" وقد اعتمدت الدراسة التطبيقية على اصطفاء خمسة مظاهر شعرية خطاب غازي القصيبى، فى مجموعته الشعرية الكاملة المكونة من سبعة دواوين شعرية تحوى تجربة الشاعر فى كتابة الشعر وحتى نضجها فى ديوان (أنت الرياض).
وهذه الدراسة نقدية حديثة تعتمد المناهج النقدية المعاصرة فى تحليلها لشعر غازى القصيبى وقد سبقنى الأستاذ سليمان اللهيب فى دراسته (صورة المرأة فى شعر غازى القصيبى)، ليكون هذا سبباً فى اختيار القصيبي كشاعر فى هذه الدراسة.
قسمت الدراسة إلى خمسة فصول، يتقدمها التمهيد، وهى كالآتى: (الفصل الأول: شعرية التكرار، الفصل الثانى: شعرية الألفاظ، الفصل الثالث: شعرية الصورة، الفصل الرابع: شعرية التضاد، الفصل الخامس: شعرية الإيقاع).
