يشكل هذا الكتاب نقطة انطلاق لاستخدام التحليل الإنشائي ETABS، والذي يعتبر من بين البرامج الأكثر قوة حالياً في مجال دراسة وتصميم المباني دراسة إنشائية كاملة تأخذ بعين الإعتبار تأثير الزلازل بشكل كامل وبسيط وفقاً لمجموعة من أشهر أكواد التصميم العالمية.
يقدم هذا الكتاب الذي بين يديك دليلاً كاملاً وشرحاً وافياً لكل الأوامر التي تضمنها القوائم الإحدى عشرة التي يتشكل منها البرنامج والأزرار المرافقة لهذه الأوامر، والنوافذ التي تظهر نتيجة لاستدعاء أي أمر من هذه الأوامر وشرح محتوى هذه النوافذ وطريقة استخدامها بشكل يفترض أن قارئ هذا الكتاب لا يمتلك أية خلفية عن هذا البرنامج، وبحيث وبحيث يمكن له إمساك هذا الكتاب والتعرف على برنامج ETABS من البداية الى النهاية.
كما يقدم الفصل الأخير من الكتاب مثالاً متكاملاً عن تصميم منشأ فولاذي مكون من أربعة طوابق وفق إثنا عشر خطوة سهلة ومبسطة تبدأ بإنشاء النموذج الممثل للمنشأ وتنتهي بالتصميم الكامل لذلك المنشأ. وقد تم اختيار مثال عن منشأ فولاذي بالذات لأن هذا النوع من المنشآت يظهر الإمكانيات الكاملة للبرنامج بما فيها إدخال تأثير الزلازل وتأثير حصولات الرياح...إلخ.
يبقى أن نقول بأن لا غنى عن هذا الكتاب لكل مستخدمي هذا البرنامج سواء أكانوا مبتدئين أم متمرسين في العمل عليه.
