لأن العلم ميراث النبوة لنا كان علينا ان نحرسه ونسهر عليه حتى يصل من بعدنا نقيا حاملا خصائص مصدره من الكتاب والسنة والعمل في هذا المجال واجب تأثم الأمة بتركه، وهو ضرورة تفرضها طبيعة الإضطراب الذي يحل بالمسلمين في فترات ضعفهم نتيجة لبعدهم عن تمثل الإسلام كما أراده الله للناس كافة. من هذا الفهم وجدتني مدفوعا للقيام بتحقيق كتاب "الذريعة إلى مكارم الشريعة" بعد ان أتيح لي صحبته والتعرف على فكر صاحبه الراغب الاصفهاني فترة طويلة وفي ظروف تسمح بتكوين رأي حول أهمية الكتاب وضرورة خدمة فكر صاحبه لشدة إرتباطه بالقرآن والحديث من جهة ولكون بعض الدارسين لم يوفوه حقه من جهة اخرى.
