يتناول هذا الكتاب حرية العقيدة في النظام المصري منذ نشأة الدولة المصرية وحتى الدستور المصري المعطل حالياً الصادر عام 1971 وبيان نصوص حرية العقيدة فيه ومدى اتفاق هذه النصوص مع الشريعة الإسلامية وهي المصدر الرئيسي للتشريع في مصر وتحليل ما بذلك من مشكلات وملابسات بشأن النص الدستوري لحرية العقيدة، وبيان جوانب الإيجاب والسلب في هذا التنظيم القانوني لحرية العقيدة، وهو النظام الدستوري الذي جرى في ظله هذا البحث إلا أنه أضحى حالياً نظاماً تاريخياً يتعين الإلتفات إليه والإستفادة من إيجابياته وتجنب سلبياته عند إعداد دستور جديد للبلاد وهي المرحلة التي يمر بها الوطن حالياً.
