إني قد تجوَّلت في بلدان ومدن عديدة، فوجدتُ التصوف فيها تصوفاً بعيداً عن التصوف الذي تعلمته وتلقيته في محبوبتي دمشق، وجدته ما بين إفراط وتفريط.
أما التصوف في دمشق فإنه تصوف سليم، وفق منهج قائم على الكتاب والسنة، ومنهج علماء الأمة، والتصوف في دمشق وعند علمائها باب عظيم من أبواب الدعوة، لقد كان كبار الدعاة الذين يستقطبون العامة هم شيوخ الطرق الصوفية، وكان كبار المربين الذين يعالجون أمراض القلوب ويهذبون النفوس هم شيوخ الطرق الصوفية.
شيوخ الطرق الصوفية كانوا شيوخاً في العلم، تلقوا القرآن الكريم وعلومه، والحديث وعلومه، والفقه والتوحيد واللغة عن أئمة العلم، وسلكوا وتربوا على أيدي العارفين الربانيين.
سمعت وأدركت وشاهدت مجالس الذكر والتصوف وروَّادها أساطين العلم في دمشق، وكبار العمائم المشهود لها بالفضل، وقرأت وسمعت ثناء أئمة العصر في العلم يثنون على شيوخ الطرق الصوفية وإستقامتهم وديانتهم، ويفتخرون بالإنتساب إليهم؛ لأن هؤلاء الشيوخ كانوا صادقين بحالهم قبل مقالهم، ملتزمين بالسنة المطهرة مطبقين لها، محاربين للبدع والمخالفات الشرعية.
نعم؛ هذا هو تصوف دمشق... هذا هو تصوف علمائها... التصوف الذي هو تدريب للنفس على العبودية لله سبحانه، التصوف الذي هو مراقبة لله سبحانه في كل الأحوال، التصوف الذي هو عمل بالعلم الذي تلقاه أهله، التصوف الذي هو تواضع ورحمة بجميع خلق الله تعالى، التصوف الذي هو الدعوة إلى الله سبحانه وتعالى بالحال والقال...
هذا ما دفعني للكتابة في هذا البحث، وأما ما حدا بي أن أجعله خاصاً بالطريقة الشاذلية؛ ذلك لأن الكتابة في التصوف في دمشق باب واسع، وما لا يدرك كله لا يترك جله، واخترت الطريقة الشاذلية دون غيرها؛ وفاء لسيدي العارف الرباني المربي الشيخ محمد صالح الحموي الذي أخذت عنه الطريقة الشاذلية، وتلقنت منه أورادها، وتشرفت بالتربية والسلوك على يديه، ثم أجازني بها وبتلقين أورادها العامة والخاصة خليفته العالم المربي الفرضي سيدي الشيخ محمد موفق المرابع.
