شمل الكتاب على مقدمة وخمسة مباحث، فالمبحث الأول ذكرت فيه الحناكية من حيث الموقع والمساحة وسبب تسميتها بهذا الإسم، والمؤشرات الطبيعية والبيئة ومصادر إقتصادهم، أما المبحث الثاني فذكرت فيه الحناكية عبر التاريخ حيث ذكر ما وقع من الحوادث قبل الإسلام مثل حرب داحس والغبراء وما حدث في صدر الإسلام من الغزوات والسرايا في زمن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم تطرقت إلى ما اشتهرت به الحناكية في بداية العهد الإسلامي حيث أصبحت الحناكية من المحطات الشهيرة على طريق الحج العراقي، والمبحث الثالث ذكرت فيه ما وجدت من الآثار في الحناكية وهي كثيرة وهذا يدلّ على أن الحناكية غنية بالآثار القديمة والطبيعة الخلابة خاصةٌ في وقت الربيع ومتوفرة فيها مقومات سياحية ناجحة إذا ما تم الإهتمام بها، أما المبحث الرابع فقد ذكرت فيه جبالها وأوديتها وقراها الشهيرة والمبحث الخامس والأخير فقد تم ذكر الحناكية من الناحية الإدارية حيث المراكز والهجر.
وأخيراً لا بدّ من الإشارة إلى أن الخطأ والنقص قرين بالإنسان، يكفيني أنني حاولت تجنب الوقوع في الأخطاء، فإن أصبت فهو من الله سبحانه وتعالى.
