ابتداء من أطروحات الإستشراق في إطاره العام الغربي، وهو يقدم الصور الإختزالية للشرق، والعرب والمسلمين بشكل خاص، وإلى تلك التي يحملها الإسرائيليون ويقدمها أدباؤهم في صور لا تختلف عن تلك التي قدمها السابقون، ستمضي هذه الدراسة، وغايتها ليس الكشفُ وحده، وإنما إضافة ولو لبنة إلى بنية خطاب مقاومة الهيمنة في شتى أشكالها وأماكن وجودها، وهو الخطاب الذي كما قال عنه إدوارد سعيد: سيجد له فُرجة لا بدَّ، حتى داخل خطاب الهيمنة ذاته، وكمثل ما سيرى القارئ لاحقاً في رواية (خربة خزعة) للصهيوني بزهار سميلانسكي التي ستكون إحدى النماذج التي سيقع عليها الإجراء في التطبيق.
فالهدفُ الأساسي لهذه الدراسة يتمثل برؤية تطبيقات الإستشراق وفحصها، وفي مقدمتها التي نراها في الأدب الصهيوني من حيث هو الآخر في اعتقادنا أدبٌ إستشراقي، لا يمكن أقصاؤه عن إهتمام المشروع الذي وضع قواعده إدوارد سعيد، حادي ركب التنويريين الباحثين عن أفضل السُبل المقاومة الهيمنة، ومقاومة سطوة المستعمرين في مختلف أشكالهم وألسنتهم وأماكن وجودهم.
