ينحو هذا الكتاب إلى تحليل الحركات الإحتجاجية في المغرب علميّاً، ليس بإعتبارها ردات فعل جماعية على أوضاع سياسية وإجتماعية معيّنة وبطرائق غير عنيفة فحسب، وإنما بوصفها ظاهرة سوسيوسياسية تعبَّر عن يقظة شعبية، وتكرِّس الحق في التعبير عن الرفض والإختلاف، وبلورة مواقف تجاه قضايا مختلفة، وممارسة الضغط السلمي على السلطة.
كما يكشف هذا الكتاب عن جوهر الفكر الإحتجاجي بالمغرب، من خلال تتبع مساره التطوري، وتحديد العوامل الرئيسة المتحكّمة فيه، مركزاً على واقع الحركات الإحتجاجية التي عاشها المغاربة منذ الإستقلال إلى اليوم، ومبرزّاً خصائص التحول والثبات التي تميز هذه الحركات، وطبيعة العلاقة بين تعذّر إنتقالها إلى حركة إجتماعية، وهشاشة السياسات العمومية والتنمية المحلية والديمقراطية التشاركية.
وبتفحص أخيراً الجانب القانوني الذي ينظَّم الحق في حرية الإحتجاج السلمي بالمغرب، وحيثيات إنخراط شباب حركة 20 فبراير وخلفياته في موجة الحراك المغربي في عام 2011.
