في هذا الكتاب أعرض لعلم من العلوم القانونية الجنائية الحديثة ألا وهو علم الضحية من المنظور الشرعي الإسلامي, ودراستي للمسألة تتسم بالموضوعية الشديدة, حيث أوازن ما بين مساوئ ومميزات كلاً من التشريعات الوضعية والإسلامية من حيث نظرتها إلى ضحايا الجرائم ومدى كمال وشمول هذه النظرة في كلا التشريعين, وذلك من خلال عرضي لبعض العقوبات الإسلامية والتي عرفها الفقه الجنائي الإسلامي, والتي وللأسف الشديد قد تعرضت للنقد الشديد, ووصفها ناقديها بأنها عقوبات قاسية عقيمة لا تؤدي الغرض الذي شرعت من أجله!! وهي العقوبات السماوية المنصوص عليها في التوراة والأنجيل والقرآن وهي التي ارتضاها الخالق للبشر والتي علم أن سيكون فيها صلاحهم.
وأعرض كذا في طيات هذه الدراسة للعديد من المبادئ والآداب التي حض الإسلام عليها والتي يكون من شأن اتباعها التقليل من نسبة الجريمة والضحوية في المجتمع, في محاولة لإيضاح فضل الفقه الجنائي الإسلامي والتشريع الإسلامي عامة في التقليل من معدلات الجريمة والضحوية والعناية بضحايا الجرائم على وجه الخصوص.
