وقال عنه الشيخ عبد الله البسام: "هذا الشرح من أنفس الشروح، من حيث سبك العبارة، ولطف الإشارة، ودقة المعنى، وقوة المبنى".
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب، عمد الدكتور شعبان إسماعيل على تحقيق نصوصه وتخريج شواهده، لكي يكون عوناً للطالب الذي يدرس هذا الكتاب يجد ضالته من أيسر الطرق، وأقرب المسالك.
