يطرح هذا الكتاب دراسة تمهيدية لمجموعة من النصوص المترجمة لغروتوفسكي التي تم اختيارها لتعكس لنا جوانب محددة من التجربة والرؤية الإبداعية لعمل هذا المعلم على "الفعل العضوي" والعمل على "الطقوسية في المسرح"، وقد تم اعداد هذا الكتاب باللغة العربية، وبالصيغة التي جاء بها، بعد الإستشارة مع "مركز عمل غروتوفسكي وتوماس ريجارد" في مدينة بونتا ديرا الإيطالية، وجاء عنوان الكتاب ليشير إلى بعدين متداخلين- منفصلين من سلسلة التجارب الفريدة من نوعها التي انجزها أحد أهم المعلمين في المسرح المعاصر، ومما لا شك فيهإن محتوى النصوص المترجمة، التي ينتظمها هذا الكتاب، تطرح جوانب من البحوث الحفرية المتواصلة في ثنايا لغة "الفن المسرحي" ولغة فنون "الطقوسية الموضوعية"، التي انفرد بها غروتوفسكي، من خلال عمله مع العديد من الفنانين المبدعين الذين رافقوه في مسيرته الحافلة بالإبداع، في واقع محيط محدد وثقافة فاعلة، تركت أثرها وأصبحت إحدى الينابيع الحيوية التي تغذت منها الكثير من الفرق والمجاميع المسرحية في المنتصف الثاني من القرن العشرين.
