وعليه يمكن تحديد مشكلة الدراسة الحالية في إجابة الأسئلة الأتية: ما العلاقة بين عمليات ما وراء الذاكرة (الوعي، التشخيص، المراقبة) وبعض الاستراتيجيات المعرفية لحل المشكلة؟ ، ما العلاقة بين عمليات ما وراء الذاكرة (الوعي، التشخيص، المراقبة) والأسلوب المعرفي التروي/الاندفاع؟ ، ما الفرق بين الطلاب مرتفعي ومنخفضي عمليات ما وراء الذاكرة في بعض الاستراتيجيات المعرفية لحل المشكلة؟ ، ما الفرق بين الطلاب مرتفعي ومنخفضي عمليات ما وراء الذاكرة في الأسلوب المعرفي التروي/ الاندفاع؟ ، هل يؤثر كل من الجنس والتخصص والتفاعل بينهما على عمليات ما وراء الذاكرة؟ ، هل يؤثر كل من الجنس والتخصص والتفاعل بينهما على استراتيجيات حل المشكلات؟.... وذلك من خلال ثلاثة فصول يتكون منها الكتاب وهي: "الفصل الأول: الإطار النظري، الفصل الثاني: إجراءات الدراسة، وأخيراً الفصل الثالث: نتائج الدراسة وتفسيرها"
