Book Description
المَثل هو خلاصة تجربةٍ مُكثَّفةٍ مُستحَبةٍ خلال دُهور، ذاتيّةُ المَنْشأ، عامَّةُ الفائدة، بإستِقرائها تقفُ على كُلِّ أبعاد العصر الذي أفرزَهُ.
فهو خبرةُ صائبةٌ موجَزةٌ طَفَتْ على وجه الذَّاكرة الجَمعْيَّة بعد طول تلاطُمٍ مع الحياة، وناموس يومٌّي فيه ما يَهدي ويَرْدَعُ ويُواسي.
وقد تَنَّبه ابنُ عبدِ ربِّه إلى أهميَّة المَثَل، فوصَفَهُ بقوله هو: "أبقى من الشِّعر، وأشرَفُ من الخَطابَة، لَمْ يَسِرْ شيءٌ مَسيرَهُ، ولا عَمَّ عُمُومَهُ، حتَّى قيلَ: أَسْيَرُ مِن مَثَل".
والمَثلُ لُغويّاً يتضمَّنُ حسبَ اشتِقاق الكلمة، معنى المُماثَلَة، كما أوردَ الزَّمَخْشريُّ في كتابه "الكشَّاف" وهو أكثر فُنون القَوْل تداوُلاً، يختلفُ عن الحِكْمة من وجوهٍ عِدّة، أهمُّها: أنَّه لَمْ يَصدُر عن حكيمٍ أو فيلسوفٍ، وأنَّه أكثر شُيُوعاً، وأساسُهُ حُسْنُ التَّشبيه وليس إصابة المعنى كما هي الحالُ في الحكمة.
وهو زَمنيّاً يمتدُّ من العصر الجاهليِّ الذي كان أهلُهُ يُعنَون بحفظ المَثَل عنايتَهُم بحفظ الشِّعر، مُروراً بالعصر الإسلاميِّ الذي أُضيفت فيه إلى ميراثنا الجاهليّ أمثالٌ مأخوذةٌ من القرآن الكريم والحديث الشَّريف، ثمَّ العصرُ العبَّاسيُّ الذي رَفَدنا بكَمِّ من الأمثال المولَّدَة "أي: التي نشأت بعد عُصور الإحتجاج والإستشهاد اللُّغويّ"، وصولاً إلى العصر الحديث وما أفرزَهُ من أمثالٍ تمّ جمعها في بلاد الشّام ومصر وبعض البلدان الأخرى في القرنَيْن التاسع عشرَ والعشرين.
