أتشرف بتقديم هذه الطبعة المنقحة من مؤلفي "الجغرافيا الإقتصادية" والتي حرصت من خلال إطارها العام على التركيز في عرض الخطوط الرئيسية للموضوعات قيد البحث دون إخلال بالجوهر وحتى نخرج في حجم مناسب يتفق وحاجة الباحثين والساعين إلى المعرفية الجغرافية، وقد شرعت منذ بداية حياتي العملية في وضع منهج علمي خاص أزعم أنه كان جديداً وإلتزمت به والحمد لله، وكانت ذخيرتي ما اكتسبته من دراستي خلال مرحلتي الليسانس والدراسات العليا، ومن قراءاتي وأبحاثي في الجغرافيا الإقتصادية، ومن توجيهات ونصائح أساتذتي ومن سبقوني في مجال البحث الجغرافي، لذا أستطيع أن أزعم أيضاً أن بعض ما كتبته في مجال تخصصي كان جديداً والحمد والشكر لله تعالى. وتنوعت فروع الجغرافيا الاقتصادية التي وفقني الله في الكتابة في مجالاتها والتي نشرت تباعاً منذ عقد السبعينيات من القرن العشرين وحتى الآن. ومن نعم الله على شخصي أن وهبني إبناً باراً وتلميذاً نجيباً وباحثاً واعداً هو الأستاذ الدكتور/ محمد إبراهيم رمضان الذي اقترح علي بعض الموضوعات التي كتبتها في شتى فروع الجغرافيا الإقتصادية وصياغتها في مؤلف واحد تحت عنوان "الجغرافيا الإقتصادية للعالم".
