وما يسعى إليه هذا الكتاب هو إطلاع المسافر والطالب العربي على مبادئ هذه اللغة، وتعليمه أهم ما يحتاجه لفي مختلف ظروف حياته اليومية في هولندا والقسم الشمالي والغربي من بلجيكا، وأن تشكل معرفته هذه لبنة يستند إليها فيما بعد أثناء انخراطه في دروس متقدمة للغة الهولندية. ولتحقيق هذه الغاية فقد حاول الكتاب تبسيط قواعد هذه اللغة ما أمكن مع إيراد الأمثلة على كل قاعدة، حيث قسم إلى فصول تعالج كل ما تقتضيه ظروف الحياة اليومية للمسافر إلى تلك البلاد.
نقدم هذا الكتاب للقراء العرب الذين يرغبون بدراسة اللغة الهولندية ولكن لم تتوفر لديهم الظروف الأكاديمية أو الوقت الكافي لدراستها. أولئك الذين حصلوا على معرفة هامشية في اللغة ويريدون أن يحسنوا من إتقانهم لها.
