اشتهر بالكتابة الساخرة وأدب الرحلات.
عُدت مقالاته بجريدة المصري اليوم نقطة تحول في زيادة عدد محبى هذا النوع من الكتابة التي تمزج النقد السياسي بأدب الرحلات بالسخرية والتي نشر بها روايته (همّام وإيزابيلا) مسلسة.
وتجدر الإشارة إلي أن كتابه الأول "مصر ليست أمي..دي مرات أبويا" قد لقي حفاوة كبيرة من القراء حتي أنه طبع ثمانية عشر مرة حتي الآن وتناقلت تنزيله مئات المواقع علي النت باعتباره من أهم الكتب العربية في السنوات الأخيرة.
كتب في عدد من الجرائد منها: جريدة الوطن الكويتية وجريدة الدستور المصرية و التحرير المصرية و المصري اليوم.عمل مديراً لمصر للطيران في الكويت وكندا.

كل الطرق كانت تؤدي إلى الجحش، وجميع الشواهد كانت تقول بأن عام 2011 هو عام الجحش، والمراقبون للحالة المصرية كانوا موقنين من أن الهاوية التي تنزلق إليها البلاد سوف تدفع الناس للثورة ولن تترك لنظام مبارك من سبيل غير استدعاء الجحش.
في هذا الكتاب، يقدم لنا أسامة غريب رؤيته لأيام الثورة وأحداثها، من خلال المقالات التي كان يكتبها كل يوم من أيام الثورة حتى تنحي حسني مبارك في 11 فبراير. ويتبع ذلك تعليقا على ما تلا الثورة من أحداث. وباقي الفصول كُتبت جميعا خلال عام 2010، وبضمها لهذا الكتاب، يريد أسامة غريب أن يعرف القارئ أن كل ما حدث في عام 2010 بمصر كان يفرش الطريق ويمهده لموقعة الجحش.
