صدر العدد الأول من (شمروخ الأراجوز) فى يناير 2003، بصفتها شكشكة شعرية غير دورية بالفصحى العامية (نشرة شعرية مصرية. على قد الحال لا جريدة ولا جرنال ولا حتى مجلة ومستقلة عن أى حزب وأى ملة عايشة بنفسكم مش بس بفلوسكم والغاوى ينقط بطاقيته. وأهلا بالأصدقاء زجالين وفنانين وشعراء)، تحت شعار (لا يحق لنا ما لا يحق لأهلنا).
واكب صدورها الانتفاضة الفلسطينية.. صدر منها فى شكلها الخاص 59 عددا حتى انتقلت للصدور منذ أكتوبر 2009 على هيئة صفحة من العدد الأسبوعى لجريدة الدستور فى الأربعاء الثالث من كل شهر. النشرة الوحيدة التى مولها قراؤها بكل أريحية وكرم.. وتطوع بعضهم لتحمل تكلفة عدد كامل كل عام، كتب عنها فى الصحف والمجلات كثير من الكتاب والشعراء المحترمين كما كرست عدة برامج تلفزيونية وإذاعية للحديث عنها كظاهرة مصرية لجأ إليها كثير من الشعراء والكتاب الوطنيين لتأكيد استقلاليتهم وحريتهم فى النقد الساخر، وهذه المختارات منتقاة من الخمسين عددا الأولى.
