موضوعُ هذا الكتاب هو شرحُ أسماء الله الحسنى، التي كشفَ الله تعالى لنا من خلالها عن صفاته، بما يجعلُه مَعلوما لنا، عِلما يقودُنا إلى عِبادته عبادةَ حُبٍّ وشُعور بفضل ليسَ له مِن شُكر يُعادله، والتي أمرنا سبحانه أنْ ندعوَه بِها، فقال: (ولله الأسماء الحسنى فادعوه بها)، ففي أسمائه الحُسنى إشراقاتٌ روحيةٌ، لا يتعرَّضُ لها إلا مَنْ دعا اللهَ تعالى بِها، وتشرَّب قلبُه بِحُبِّها، وأخذَ حظه منها، وجعلَها قُدوتَه في أقواله وأفعاله وجميع أحوالِه.
وقد بدأ فضيلة الشيخ حسنين محمد مخلوف كتابه بالحديث عن فضل ذكر الله تعالى، ثم تحدث عن أسماء الله الحسنى، واستعرضها اسماً اسماً، ذاكراً بعض الآيات الواردة فيها، شارحاً لمعانيها بأسلوبٍ سهلٍ ميسورٍ، قريبٍ مِن كل طوائِفِ المُثقَّفين على اختِلافِ مشاربِهِم واتجاهاتهِم.
