إن أصابع الفتنة تريد أن تشكك في القرآن، عماد الدين، والركن المتين، فنسمع كلمة "تحريف القرآن" و"نقص القرآن"، تهمة يتقاذفها المسلمون من مئات السنين، يتهم بها بعضهم بعضاً، ليوقع بالآخر، وتتدخل الأيادي المشبوهة لتشجع هذا الاتجاه، ويقع فيها بعض البسطاء السذّج، متوهماً أنه يدافع عن الدين وعن الإسلام، وإذا به يؤذي الدين، وساهم -ولو عن غير قصد- بهدف هذا الركن الوثيق، فإن التهم المتبادلة ترمى جزافاً من دون تروٍ أو تحقيق، وتؤدي إلى التشكيك بالقرآن.
ومع نمو الصحوة الإسلامية المباركة، تزايدت هذه التشكيكات، وتزايدت التهم، وكأن أيدي الفتنة لا تريد للمسلمين نهوضاً واستقراراً ووحدة.
والتقيت نخبة مثقفة واعية، ينتمون إلى مختلف المذاهب الإسلامية، من سنة وشيعة، وذكروا لي واقعاً مريراً من التهم، وطلبوا كتاباً فيه بحث مختصر نافع مفيد، خفيف المؤونة، سهل القراءة، عن مسألة تحريف القرآن أو نقصه بكل موضوعية وعلمية، يساهم -ولو بالقليل- في إطفاء نار هذه التهم، فكان هذا الكتاب استجابة لهذا الطلب، بحثاً مختصراً علمياً خفيفاً بأسلوب سهل على القراء حتى غير المتخصصين في العلوم الإسلامية من فقه وأصول وتفسير وغيره.
