هذا كتاب "شرح سنن ابن ماجه" للإمام الحافظ علاء الدين مغلطاي، المسمى بــ "الإعلام بسنته عليه الصلاة والسلام شرح سنن ابن ماجه الإمام" نقدمه للقارئ الكريم، في طبعة جديدة، وشرح الحافظ مغلطاي للسنن قل أن تجد شرحاً مثله، لأنه يدل على عقلية علمية موسوعية من حديث ولغة وفقه وكلام على الرجال، وغير ذلك، كما يتضح منهجه في شرحه للسنن.
فهو يسوق سند ومتن الحديث كما ورد في سنن ابن ماجه، ويذكر من أخرج الحديث من أصحاب الكتب الستة، أو غيرهم، ثم بعد ذكر من خرج الحديث يذكر من صحح الحديث أو ضعفه، وإن لم يذكر قول من صحح الحديث أو لم يحل على من اشترط الصحة، يقوم هو بهذه المهمة، ويمكن تسمية صنيع المؤلف في هذا الكتاب تخريجاً، فإنه عنى بتخريج الحديث، وذكر الشواهد والمتابعات، وإيراد أحاديث الباب الصحيح والضعيف، وذكر العلل، وقد أطال النفس في ذلك، وجمع فأوعى، وتفوق على كتب التخريج كـ "نصب الراية" و "التلخيص الحبير" ويورد "رحمه الله" أحاديث الباب ويتكلم عليها، أيضاً تناول بيان الغريب وشرح بعض الألفاظ، وأسهب في بعض تلك الشروح ونقل عن أئمة أهل اللغة، وأطال النفس في الكلام على الرجال وذكر ما قيل فيهم من مدح وذم، أما الأحكام الفقهية وما يستفاد من كل حديث فهو لم يهتم "رحمه الله" بالأحكام الفقهية، والحافظ مغلطاي لم يكمل شرحه للسنن، بل وصل في شرحه إلى كتاب إقامة الصلاة، باب التسبيح للرجال في الصلاة والتصفيق للنساء، فرحم الله الحافظ مغلطاي رحمه واسعة.
