وهذا الكتاب يعد دليلاً أو مهاداً سياسياً مهماً لمن يعرف القليل أولا يعرف شيئاً عن السياسة; لذلك كان على برنارد شو أن يبدأ من المفاهيم الأولى: نظف عقلك من المفاهيم المسبقة كلها. اتركنا ننظر أولاً إلى الحقائق. ما الظروف التى يعيش تحتها الكتلة العريضة من الناس فى عالم مصطنع؟ ما السياسة؟... إلخ.
