وبالإضافة إلى الأسلوب الجميل فإننا نلمس في هذه المجموعة القصصية قدرة محمد عبد القدوس على تجسيد أفكاره في شخصيات حية نتعاطف معها، أو نرفضها. وهناك ميزة أساسية أخرى في هذه المجموعة القصصية، وهي أن محمد عبد القدوس يبني قصصه على نوع من الصراع القوي "بين الطرفين أو بين أطراف متعددة"،وبدون هذا الصراع فإن الفن يصبح سطحياً.
