The journey to Mount Tamalpais is a journey, beyond our mind, intellect, reason, feelings and emotions, unveiling Perception where images are formed by themselves, generated from each other; they compile, follow each other to ‘make’ stories, paintings or dreams, they become visions, text, a language.
Strange images surprised me with their overwhelming powerful fluency and transparency. Their simplicity puzzled me. Coming along with its prose, we find ourselves moved deeply, elevated by its poetry.
Events happen in front of us, the vision becomes clear, and we receive messages that are unheard of.
As for the events: it is a unique experience of art. A group of artists obsessed with ‘perceiving’ the world, what is in it, and what is beyond, glimpsing into the pains and glories of its history, recalling its ancient civilizations, listening to its progress, enjoying its cultures, plunging into its arts. This happens at the feet, on the slopes, trails, in the colors and at the top of the mountain.
As for the vision: the mountain is a living being, the beginning and the point of reference , the ‘essence of our identity’. It is a pyramidal goddess, a wounded beast, a long forgotten prison, a space-ship, a legendary volcano, a theatre of light.
As for the inspired messages: impatient gestures and the sign language of Indians, the whirling of an artist, the chemistry of feelings, the fury of tempests, the quietness of infinity, the spirit of power, the fantasies of imagination, the radiation and secrets of colors, light and blackness in space, the progress and vulnerability of mankind.
