يمثل هذا الملف: "تأويليات العنف"، جزءاً من مشروع "التطرف الديني"، ويركز على المقاربات الفلسفية لظاهرة العنف ومشتقاتها كالتعذيب والإرهاب والقسوة والرعب... وذلك من ناحية أصولها في الوعي الإنساني وأعماقه السحيقة، وفي الصراعات بين الأفراد والجماعات، وكذلك في التجارب القصوى كالحروب، وحالات الإستثناء، وإدارة النزاعات... في مصادرها التاريخية وتجلياتها في العالم المعاصر.
وقد توزعت أغراض المساهمات التي تشكل منها الملف بين محاور ثلاثة كبرى: محور الإرهاب وما يطرحه من تحديات على الإنسانية المعاصرة وعلى النظام السياسي العالمي، ومحور العنف السياسي المباشر على الأفراد والجماعات من جانب أجهزة الدولة (في العالم العربي بوجه خاص)، ومحور العنف كظاهرة إنسانية يمكن وصفها وتأويلها في تجلياتها المباشرة (القسوة، العداوة، الحرب...) وفي أشكالها الفردية والجماعية.
إن مجمل المساهمات التي تشكل منها هذا الملف تدور بشكل أو بآخر على أحد هذه المحاور المذكورة، أو على ما بينها من التداخل والتفاعل.
فالظاهرة الإرهابية تمثل مجالاً مشتركاً للتفكير في العنف، من جهة مصادر التطرف التي تغذى منها تاريخياً، ومن جهة العوامل التي وفرت له مرئية كونية قاهرة صنعتها الدولة الحديثة تحديداً وصارت ضحيتها الأولى تحاول مقاومتها وإيجاد مخارج قانونية لذلك.
وأما العنف في شكله السياسي المباشر فتقع معالجته في هذا الملف من خلال ممارسة الدولة وأجهزتها لأصناف القهر والتعذيب والتنكيل بالمعارضين، وهو ما يمثل مخزوناً رمزياً لذاكرة الشعوب ومادة أدبية للكتابة والإبداع يمكن مقاربتها بمنهج فينومينولوجي يحاول وصف وفهم آليات العلاقة بين الضحية والجلاد وتقلباتها اللامتناهية.
وفي آخر المطاف يبقى العنف ظاهرة إنسانية متصلة ببنية النفس وعلاقتها الغامضة بالشر وإضمار نوايا السوء والإيذاء، وتعقب الآخر في حرمة نفسه وجسده دونما تفسير عقلي نهائي يمكّن الناس من التخلص مما يتهددهم من قسوة مجانية وشر رتيب.
