تعدّ دراسة الشّخصيّة الرّوائيّة من الدّراسات التي حظيت بإهتمام واسع ومتشعّب على جميع الأصعدة: أولاً لأنها تدخل في صميم العمل الرّوائيّ بوصفها محركاً ومطوّراً متنامياً للبناء السّرديّ بشتّى تفاصيله، وثانياً لأنّها منفتحة على حياة الإنسان خارج حدود الرّواية فحصاً وتنقيباً ووقوفاً عند أهمّ مرتكزاتها الخارجيّة والنّفسيّة والإجتماعيّة والفكريّة، ومرّة ثالثة لأنّها سمة خصبة تنفتح على المكان والزّمان والحوار والحدث السّرديّ كذلك، ولأنّها تحظى بكل هذه الأهميّة كان لنا رغبة في دراستها في روايات كاتبنا: (محسن الرّملي) القاص والرّوائيّ العراقيّ، وحاولنا الوقوف عند رواياته الموسومة (الفتيت المبعثر - حدائق الرئيس - تمر الأصابع)، وفق المفاهيم الخاصّة والمتفق عليها في الدّراسات السّرديّة، مفيداً من إنفتاحها على العلوم الفكريّة والإجتماعيّة والنفسيّة والثقافيّة الأخرى، أمّا عن الدّراسات السابقة فلم تجد أيّ باحث قد تناول أعمال الروائيّ، سواء الشخصيّة أو غيرها.
دراستنا عن الشّخصية في روايات (محسن الرّملي) أنبنت وفق مخطّط كانت بدايته (التمهيد) نظري الذي يقف عند أهمّ مفاهيم الشّخصيّة بمستوياتها اللغويّة والنفسيّة الإنسانية مروراً على أهمّ الآراء في مفهوم الشخصيّة الرّوائية الصّرف في علمِ السّرديات، من خلال الوقفة عند أهم معاجم اللّغة والإصطلاح التي أنارت دراستنا بطروحاتها النّقديّة الوافية حول هذا الموضوع، وقد قسمت الدّراسة بعد التّمهيد إلى فصول، تناول كلَّ فصل جانباً من جوانب الشّخصيّات على تنوّعاتها.
