يحتوي الكتاب على ثمانية فصول بالإضافة إلى ملحق بالمصطلحات الإنجليزية وجداول القيمة الحالية، يتعرض الفصل الأول للمقومات الأساسية لقرار الإستثمار، أما الفصل الثاني فيعرض لطرق قياس العائد والمخاطرة للأوراق المالية، ويتناول الفصل الثالث شرحاً لدور أسواق المال وأهميتها الإقتصادية وأهم الأدوات المختلفة المتاحة للمستثمر في أسواق النقد وأسواق المال مع التعريف بالخصائص الأساسية لهذه الأدوات ودرجة المخاطرة والعائد في كل منها.
أما الفصل الرابع فيركز على تحليل وتقييم الأسهم والسندات بإعتبارهما أهم الأوراق المالية المتداولة في السوق المالي، ويضع الفصل الخامس الإطار العام لعملية بناء المحافظ الإستثمارية، ويتناول الفصل السادس بالتحليل شكلاً خاصاً من أشكال المحافظ الإستثمارية، ويبحث الفصل السابع المشتقات المالية بأنواعها المختلفة، أما الفصل الثامن والأخير فيعتبر إمتداداً للفصول المتعلقة بالأسواق المالية في الفصلين الثالث والرابع.
