إنّ القرآن الكريم وأحاديث المعصومين صلوات الله عليهم أهم مصدرين لإستنباط الأحكام الشرعية، والطريق إلى فهم نصوصهما فهماً صحيحاً هو دراسة علوم اللغة وإتقانها.
وتختلف علوم اللغة في الأغراض المقصودة منها، فمنها أربعة يتوقف عليها فهم النصّ، وهي: علم متن اللغة وعلم التصريف وعلم النحو وعلم البلاغة، كلّ منها يعدّ عنصراً يساهم في فهم النصّ، فإذا اجتمعت هذه العناصر تكوّن النظر السليم لفهم النصّ وتفسيره.
وهذا الكتاب شرح شافية ابن الحاجب لنظام الدين الحسن بن محمد النيسابوري يعنى بأحد هذه العلوم، وهو علم التصريف.
والغرض من دراسة علم التصريف أمران: الأول: معرفة معاني ابنية الأسماء والأفعال، الثاني: الإحتراز من اللحن في هيئة الكلمة.
وإنّ دراسة هذا الكتاب توصل الطالب إلى تحقيق ذلك الغرض، وتعدّه أيضاً لفهم مسائل علم اللغة ومسائل علم الإشتقاق.
